Zhanay Law LLC, an immigration law firm in Minneapolis, walks alongside families on their legal journey toward a new life in the United States.

Edwin Zhanay was born in Ecuador and raised in the United States. His parents’ immigration journey -through which they obtained legal permanent residency and later U.S. citizenship- shaped his vocation and led him to dedicate his career to immigration law. Thanks to that personal experience, Edwin understands firsthand what each immigration case means for a family, and he supports his clients with empathy, clarity, and respect.

Edwin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, where he was recognized as an Aquinas Scholar. He later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Saint Thomas School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the national association of immigration attorneys in the United States.

In addition to his legal practice, Edwin serves as a volunteer attorney with organizations working to defend human rights. He speaks English and Spanish fluently, which allows for direct communication with his clients and helps him explain each stage of the immigration process in a simple and understandable way.
